What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
For us to provide an accurate and comprehensive quote we require a description of the event along with the location/setting, date and WiFi requirement. It helps us to spec the solution correctly if we also know how many users will be accessing the network and what types of devices will they be using. If there is a known data allowance or minimum speed requirement we will carry out pre-install test to confirm we can meet these, at your event location.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Ask about the success rate of the technology being proposed and for success examples. How does the technology being offered differ from what you may have seen and heard of before? What guarantee is there that the proposed solution will work and what recourse do you have if this is not the case? What support will be available during your event in case of emergency.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
Our CEO, Kevin Latimer, was previously working as an IT manager for Tolent and forever being asked for a more robust and reliable solution, by his site managers. He was not permitted the time or resource to create said solution, by his employer, so set about creating this in his spare time. After many versions and much trial and error, Outpost was born. Initially the natural sector for Kevin to focus his attention on was the Construction Industry, hence why 50% of our customer base lies there.
