What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

The event date, a brief explanation of the type of event they're hosting, number of hours the service would be required, whether the event is indoors or outdoors, and if they require specialised designs.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

First check their profile page, website and reviews, ask if they have insurance and are DBS checked. And ask them the number of children they can paint in an hour doing quick designs. The normal amount is 10-12, any less would mean the painter isn't painting at a professional standard. Another question to ensure they are good is to ask them about their hygiene practices, and suitable answers would be ones such as 'using a different sponge for each child', 'cleaning paints in between jobs with alcohol spray', or 'if the child displays signs of a skin infection not to paint them as this increases the risk of spreading it'. You could even ask the painter to send a risk assessment beforehand.

Facepaint Mcr was started by myself Sarah Cowan, a freelance artist with a passion for creating exciting and striking works across a variety of mediums. I randomly gave face painting a try to help out a friend with their event and people were so happy and grateful I immediately fell in love with it. Bringing joy to people through this medium and having great interactions is such a lovely feeling. With over 9 years of experience providing high-end designs for children's events, or specialized glitzy makeup for adults at corporate events I haven't looked back. We've worked with clients such as The Whitworth Art Gallery and Beavertown Brewery for many years now. I'm excited for the what's in store for the future of Facepaint Mcr.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I'm shocked at how many bookings that have been confirmed through the platform and I have received deposits for! Still extremely new to the platform, Facepaint Mcr has yet to complete the first booking, in 2 weeks time. But yes! Very excited as we've been booked to do two weddings already.
