What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

I need to know the location of the event, so that I can look at milage. I also need to know the type of event and the length of time they wish to hire me for, although I do not attend an event for less than 2 hours. I need to know if there is a theme and the age of the audience.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

It is important that the face painter can give you full details of the types of faces they offer and for what age ranges such as festival eye style painting which is useful if there are older children, glitter tattoos for those children who might not want to be painted - this is more important if there is to be a mixture of ages at the event. If there is a theme for the party, it is important to check that the painter knows so that they can practice if necessary.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

I was in the Civil Service for 17 years full time. I have always been artistic and loved painting. One day while looking through Facebook I saw an ad for someone requiring a face painter. This sparked my interest and I ended up attending several professional courses at which I did really well at and the lady running the courses took me on as a freelance. I then left the Civil Service to start my own business. I am only in my first 4 months, although I have been painting a lot longer.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I have received several bookings through your site, which is fabulous, but I have not attended any as of yet. Although I will say the majority of them are quite a way out of where I live. I like the set up of your site however and I appreciate the fact that you keep the emails and quotes sent, which has been making it much easier for me to keep track of where I am - thank you!
