What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

To provide an accurate quote, I need the date of the event, along with the venue info. expected numbers and timings of the event in question. Also, whether it is indoor or outdoor is important too. Whether it is a corporate or private event is helpful to know as well.

Please take into account when looking at different face painters that the professional ones will have insurance, a code of conduct regarding health and safety, and many years of experience - their price will therefore reflect this.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

I was a children's photographer for 11 years. After leaving that to go into the computer industry, I started face painting to help out a friend at my god-son's birthday party and loved it. For around 5 years I continued juggling both jobs but then my love of face painting and the flexibility it gave me with my young son won out and I left my computer job to do face painting full time. That was 9 years ago and I have not looked back.
