Big Red Kitchen (or Cegin Fawr Goch) provides gourmet Welsh food all across North Wales. A diverse ingredient and stall layout means that the menu can be easily adapted to any event, theme or situation and the trailer itself has been decorated so that it fits with any event from relaxed private parties to weddings or corporate events. There are a range of vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options available and where possible all ingredients are sourced locally.

What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

Its great if we can find out how many people you need us to cater for, which services you have on site (electricity, water), the type of theme of your event (relaxed, formal, vegan, late night, families etc). Its also great to know the times you'd like us to serve, any special requests and your budget - we'll always try to work to provide what you need.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Its important to hire the right size of provider, and not to hire too many providers for a small event. I would look for someone who can offer lots of options on the same trailer - such as coffee, cold drinks, catering to all dietary requirements (including children). Also check out their reviews and ask them about other events they have catered. With such a big Welsh gluten free food movement, picking food that caters to people with dietary requirements is important.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Rachael is a proper foodie and was tired of the corporate world, Ed is great at towing and renovating so we decided to buy 'King Burger' - an old funfair trailer that was looking like it needed a new home. After a good clean, complete refit and big lick of paint, Big Red Kitchen was born. We try to help out at small events by serving 'something for everyone' - we showcase local Welsh produce and cook to order, so you can have your food exactly how you want it. Providing Welsh vegetarian food and Welsh vegan food is a nice change from the norm as well. We're in our second year now and loving it.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

We haven't been on here long but we already have some weddings booked via Add to Event in the 2017 diary - we're looking forward to feeding guests at these events.
