The Jabberwocky provides a variety of toasties made in and delivered from their renovated 1987 VW LT throughout Warwickshire. They attend all manner of events and provide a huge range of toastie flavours from the traditional to the adventurous to the positively insane. In addition to toasties, the Jabberwocky also provides both hot and cold drinks.

What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

As long as we have the 'where', the 'how many people' and the 'when', we can put together a quote for you. Everything else is lovely to know, but these three things are key! We are veteran event caterers and are happy to advise on numbers or work to your specs, whichever you prefer.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Don't book too far in advance with people who don't have a solid track record. Street food is full of hopeful folks looking for their dream job, and many don't last the year. We have been going for 6 years and never accept a booking we aren't certain we can attend. Do your research on the company in question: check their social media and look for reviews and recommendations before you hand over any cash.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

The Jabberwocky was started because both of us wanted an adventure. We wanted to escape the 9-5, get out on the road and enjoy life. Toasties, our weapon of choice, are the ultimate crowdpleaser: hot, delicious and infinitely variable, they suit kids, foodies and the people who just want a cheese and ham. Giving people a tasty meal at a music festival or feeding the masses at a sporting event or the wonderful intimacy of providing wedding food: these are experiences that I am honoured to be able to share with our customers.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

There was a charity event booking we took through the platform a while ago that had us standing in a field in the rain. We've all been there: in the rain, watching the world go hustling by without buying food, but these folks were absolutely lovely. You meet such friendly people in street food! I've since recommended Add To Event on my street food blog, where I help other traders get started in the industry. Add To Event is a crucial resource for new vendors and one I wish had been around when we first started out.
