What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
To ensure that my quote will be as accurate as possible, I require information such as the date of your event, the type of event, the preferred service and a rough estimate of the expected number of guests. It's also good to know how many guests are children to ensure we can provide the best service for every age. Once I have put all the information provided together, I can create a bespoke drinks menu to suit every occasion and budget. Any special requirements such as preferred drinks brands can also be sourced on request, so the more information the better.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
The best advice I could give to a customer is to check out reviews. Whether they are on social media platforms (I find these are the most honest) or through testimonials. Word of mouth is even better, and this is how I get a lot of my business. I would also recommend that you ensure that there's no hidden costs!
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
As a child, I was lucky enough to have my own pony. We used to travel around doing pony clubs using my battered 1960's Rice trailer. Sadly, Bugsy my pony passed away a few years before I went off to college and my parents were left with the old horse trailer. Whilst in College, I worked in bars for extra money. I enjoyed meeting lots of new people. My partner has been busy building a marquee business for a few years now and I spent that time at home looking after our five girls. Last year, I decided to do something for myself as the girls were growing up. What better way to coincide our marquee business, then to venture into my first love of ponies and my bar work! We set about transforming our old 1960's Rice trailer last year, and I couldn't be happier with the loving restoration job we carried out. We have since expanded with our indoor rustic bars, which are also very popular with Tipi weddings and festivals. In the future, I hope to expand the business further with some exciting new ideas and eventually involve my very keen girls in what I hope will be a family business!
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
My first ever booking through Add to Event was very exciting. I submitted a quote for a local couple for their wedding day drinks service. They required a full drinks package including table wines, waters and their toasting drinks. They then required a cash bar. After a few messages about my services and a few more images sent, they selected my services. I then arranged to meet with the couple to create their bespoke drinks menu. Their wedding day was beautiful and I couldn't have been happier with the way the day went for them. The horse box received lots of great comments from wedding guests and made for some great photos. I received a lovely thank you message from the bride and groom after their event, which I feel always makes my job so worth while.
