What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

We would need to know the location of the event, the date and times we are required and also the number of guests they have attending. From this we can advise a fully inclusive quote for the event that is bespoke to the client.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Quality every time! We only use locally sourced and high quality products on board our vintage van and our ice cream trike. Whether it's a cocktail bar, cream tea, mobile bar, ice cream/boozy sorbet, coffee or our fresh hot waffles all our products are bought locally and are of exceptional quality, ethically sourced and fair trade where possible. This ensures we deliver a high quality service, product and are recommended time and again for other events. These are high standards but we believe they should be minimum standards. Look for this in any sweets van you hire.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

I had worked in the wedding/entertainment industry for over 20 years. When I was made redundant from my job I realised that I wanted to work for myself and put all that experience to great use. I bought a clapped out old Citroen H van and invested time and money to get it on the road as well as a rustic ice cream trike that my husband clad in reclaimed wood. We wanted to ensure that all enquiries were bespoke and that couples/events could choose the products we supplied for them - after all it's their event. As such, the vintage van had to be 100% adaptable and we can mix and match our offers to suit our clients and be customer focused - whether we set up as a cocktail bar, mobile bar, to waffles, ice cream and boozy sorbet parlour, retro milkshakes, coffee/tea/hot chocolate parlour - we adapt our service and locate local suppliers to provide us with the best quality products. We called ourselves the Toot Sweets Van as our vintage van is French, Toot Sweet in French means come quickly, "fancy a toot" for anything alcoholic which suited the cocktails/mobile bar "Sweet" as everything onboard is for the sweet toothed and also in the song from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang the line is "the edible tweetable treat" which just about sums up our products!

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

We get so many enquiries from Add To Event - and we have had success with quite a few of them and we are looking forward to meeting our clients. Sadly this year we have been inundated with bookings throughout the year so a lot of enquiries have come in too late for us to be able to do them as we are already booked out. However, we will continue to respond as soon as possible to all the enquiries and hope that we can secure lots more for 2018 - after all, with a bespoke, quality and fun vintage van/trike like we have - that is 100% adaptable to the clients requirements - it's going to be a busy few years. As a result of using Add To Event we have also recommended the platform to other wedding suppliers that we know are also excellent in their field (we wouldn't recommend them otherwise!).
