What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

In order to supply a accurate quote, I would generally require the following:

1) The date of the event and event type.

2) The events location. If you have not yet chosen a particular venue at the time of enquiry, the name of the town or a postcode will do just as well.

3) Performance length and type of performance: i.e. Do you require close-up magic / walk around magic or a show?

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

In the case of close up magic, I would ask the performer to suggest from their experience how long is appropriate for the number of guests attending. When a client is unsure they may overestimate or underestimate how long is appropriate for their particular event. I would also ask the performer a little about their professional experience and if they have public liability insurance.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Magic became a deep interest with me many years ago and grew out of a desire to amaze and entertain people with things they really don't get to see every day. Eventually, this interest turned into a regular source of income and it wasn't long before I took the next step and became a professional magician. Since then I have performed at just about every kind of venue, for every kind of event or special occasion there is and never tire of seeing the look of surprise and amazement on peoples faces.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

It is always gratifying as a professional magician when you leave the event with a satisfied client or clients. Even more so when there are people of all generations in attendance and have equally enjoyed your performance. To keep things very recent, this was also true of a 40th birthday party I currently performed at, booked via Add to Event. It was a fairly captive audience on this occasion but the smiles and laughter are always just as gratifying to hear, especially when the guests are so relaxed and happy to take part in the magic from beginning to end. What I particularly enjoy is knowing that those kinds of memories tend to stay with people forever.
