What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

In order to provide the most accurate quote, there are some key bits of information I need to know, on top of the obvious stuff of course! Things such as; will I be performing during a meal, or in between courses? Will the guests be seated, or free to mingle? What is the event space like, by which I mean, is there a proper stage for such a performance, do I need to provide my own speaker system and a microphone? What is the age of the audience? What is your budget for hiring someone? Knowing all of this will enable me to provide a quote much more quickly!

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Be sure you know the type of magic performance you are interested in. If the magician is an honourable one, they will point you in the direction of someone who will be a more suitable fit should they not appropriate. I, for example, am not a mentalist and as such, defer that sort of gig to my compatriots who are experts in that field!

The other key factor is to have a budget in mind, I often wait to hear this information from the client because no two events are the same and my fee often reacts according to what is possible for the client.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

I had never expected to become a magician, but after learning a few small effects for fun from Youtube, I quickly found myself being harassed by friends and family to perform at parties. Not long after I was hired by a restaurant and then shortly after I was brought in to perform at a cabaret dinner show, where I worked for nearly five years!

Magic crept its way into my life and I couldn't imagine doing anything else now!

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I was booked for my first event through this platform for a corporate function in central London. It was an international company that was an absolute blast to perform to. The audience was receptive and couldn't get enough! I never would have known about them if not for this site and look forward to many more exciting bookings.
