What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

In order to provide a fixed quote to a client, I will need the event date, approximate start time, a brief description of the type of event, a rough idea of the number of guests and the location. From this, I am able to advise what might work best and deliver a quote for the entertainment you require.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

I would advise going with a professional magician who can demonstrate that they are comfortable working at the type of event you are planning. Obviously, cost is a factor but the most expensive aren't necessarily the best, and the cheapest aren't always the worst so check they have up to date reviews and that their communication with you is quick and answers what you need to know (as well as perhaps suggesting some alternatives). There is nothing worst than waiting days for a reply!

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

I always provided magical services, like most magicians, alongside a day-job (I was a teacher for over 20 years). As bookings got more numerous and with all the experience I had gained entertaining over the years, I decided to go professional and haven't looked back. It is very satisfying to perform at an event and get great feedback about your art. I love interacting with everyone at a booking and make sure that I am more than just a magician. It's great to be able to make kids and adults laugh and gasp and everyone is always pleased when I come along to entertain them.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I have only recently started to use Add to Event and find them head and shoulders above other, similar sites. It was recommended to me by another performer at a party I was entertaining at and I'm very pleased with the service they provide, both to businesses like mine and my clients. I have done kid's shows, parties for adult's birthdays and anniversaries, and weddings of course. No two bookings are the same which is why my professionalism and experience helps me adapt to whatever situation I find myself in.
