What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

First and foremost, the date of the event, number of guests and the type of food required. It’s also important to know the location of the event and the facilities available, in particular, whether there is access to power at the site. It's also useful to know the type of site - private venue, barn, campsite, field etc...cooking on flat land helps!

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

I'd advise that the customer carries out background research into local and relevant suppliers, in order to ensure that they receive the food and service that they require. It's also important to ask the provider about the different menus that they can offer and where they source their ingredients. Ask lots of questions, so that you get an insight into the provider's knowledge and expertise.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

I decided to follow my dream and my passion for cooking and feeding people in 2019 when I left Secondary School Teaching after 17 years! I love the smile on people’s faces when they eat my food; it makes me happy! Food is love! Food is life! I love being part of that wonderful experience for many people and we love to make precious and beautiful memories! Food should be celebrated every day and we embrace this every time we prep, cook and serve our delicious food to people.!

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I’ve had an influx of bookings from this platform which has been fantastic! Catering for next-day campers after festivals and private sporting events with famous guest speakers has been great, but I have to admit that we love a good wedding...making memories for couples for years to come is just wonderful! Feedback has been fantastic and events have been successful and an exciting accomplishment! Add to Event has certainly enabled us to cater for great events and has opened our eyes to the number of private events requiring honest, hearty food and service with a smile!
