What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For us to provide a comprehensive quote to a customer, ideally we need the event date, a brief explanation of the type of event they are hosting, the estimated number of guests, and a potential venue, whether it's an indoor or outdoor event. It's also important for us to know if there are suitable electrical hookups. It also helps if we know if the client has specific menu requests or needs. All this helps up put together a quote that suits our potential clients' requests.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Communication is key. It's important to work with people that are available to discuss and check in with you before the event. Planning is key. Sometimes some providers look great on paper but when it comes down to it the actual service is not what you expected. BE sure to know who will be working at the event.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

My mother is my inspiration. I grew up working with her in her small, high-end International restaurant and catering company. I loved working the events and always loved how my mum fed people, souls. The friendly atmosphere. A few years ago my mum and her best friend sold there Barge Burger that had a huge success located by the Leicester Football Club. Being an equestrian myself, last year whilst attending Burghley horse trials, I realised I couldn't get a descent toastie or sandwich anywhere. Not a big fan of chips and burgers, I convinced my friend that we should follow in my mum's footsteps. So we contacted the council and then NCCAS to see how to proceed. We then (3 women and the help of an older friend) spent the winter converting our small pony box into a customised, elite little kitchen. Our food trailer is now set to go with the highest of health and safety standards and is ready for a fun, busy season.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

To be honest we joined Add to Event last week. But I am pleased to say that we already have one booking and several people contacting us regarding future events.
