What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

It's important to know obviously the date and timings if known. Details of the venue, number of guests, themes or music you are looking for. It's also useful to know if the venue has any complications to work around. Things like no parking, upstairs room or lifts, front or rear entrance. Please also let us know if there are any time limits on setting up. How long can you provide and when is set up needed so that it doesn't upset your day.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

My advice to really consider what a DJ is offering for his price. Look at pages on websites and Facebook, as well as reviews given elsewhere. Don't choose your booking on price. Think about how a DJ will prepare. Will they meet and look at all the specific requirements you have? Will they work flexibly with you? Also, consider the time a DJ needs. They can provide better quality set up if given sufficient time to set up and get all your music requests to the DJ before the day so they can be prepared with requests. This is often not considered.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

I started out purely through the love of music and I pride myself on loving all ranges of styles across all decades. I started singing on karaoke years ago and that was my starting point. Since then I've established myself in the wedding industry. I love sharing music with guests and get a real buzz out of a great night of happy guests dancing and singing.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I had a fantastic night doing a Sweet Sixteenth at the beginning of 2020. It was an easy booking and a great price. It was also on a Monday evening which is rare. I got the asking price and my pictures and advice in the booking quote were met by the client. It turned out to be one of the most successful evenings I'd had.
