What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

The date, time, location of the event, plus the type of event it is, the room size and number of guests. Also if there are any issues loading the gear in, like parking or stairs etc. The more information the better, really.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Get quotes from at least 3 different vendors but make sure they have PAT tested equipment, PLI and do contract and deposits. Also, ask if there are any additional fees. Asking how much experience they have is an extremely important question. Ideally, your wedding professional should have ample experience, specifically with weddings.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

I've been DJing from 1988, through the rave and club scene. After having residences at Scarborough's main nightclubs and bars, I moved over to working for Scarborough's biggest mobile disco companies. Then I decided it was time to go it by myself. It's taken time to build up my setup and client base but it's been well worth it.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I have had no issues at all with bookings from this site. It seems to give the client peace of mind as well. I have only had one booking with Add to Event so far, but have another booked in soon. I am looking forward to the business this site brings in.
