What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

Information about your event is the key to get a comprehensive quote from myself. Apart from the obvious name, date and type of event, as equally important is the name of your event venue. The main reason for that is, that there are a few venues that have major load-in difficulties that would require hiring extra staff, thus increasing the quote.
Any other pertinent information would be helpful too e.g. - event taking place in a marquee!

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

I'd like to think that customers will look at the professionalism and reviews of the providers that they are looking to book. The budget is also important for many customers, but although we might be slightly more expensive than other competitors, here at CDK Disco, we feel we offer good value for money, as our previous clients who have given us 5 star reviews agree!

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

CDK Disco started as a result of being asked by a friend to provide music for their wedding anniversary at quite a large hall. As my party sound system I used at home wouldn't suffice, a visit to the local DJ supplier sourced some new DJ equipment for the event. After that event, I decided a new part time venture would be a lot of fun! I've always loved entertaining people at my house parties and took this to a new level. It's been quite a learning curve as music tastes are varied for each event. Providing online party and song planners for my clients, client meetings in some cases, helps me focus on personalising their event. More and more clients are quite specific on what they want for their event and the modern dJ has to be prepared and organised for this.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

We have been using Add to Event for just over 6 months now and have been happy with their service.
We have had a wonderful variety of clients and events to perform at, from weddings to christening and communion parties.It would be hard to choose one in particular to highlight but one that I could use as an example would be a charity event that had been booked by the mother of the recipient of the event.
We had planned some activities but they were sidelined after it became clear the dance floor was where everyone wanted to be! A wonderful variety of music was played throughout the night, along with the videos of each song, which went down well. Thank you, Add to Event!
