What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

To provide an accurate quote we need the event date and location, some information about the type of event being hosted and what they would like from us, the times the customer would like our services to start and finish and also what time they would like us to have our equipment set and ready by.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Firstly, we would say to make entertainment a priority! Entertainment is often the last thing to be thought about (especially at weddings) and is sometimes not even budgeted for. However, it is one of the most memorable aspects of the entire event and you don't want to regret neglecting it afterwards. Following on from this: do not judge solely on price. There are vast differences in quality in our area of work - not all DJs/bands/photo booths are the same. Make sure you look through websites, photos, social media pages, reviews etc. to enable you to compare informed.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

It started almost accidentally when we were asked to provide some music at a friends birthday party back in 2009. We intended for this to be a one-off favour at the time, but a few enquiries resulted from it. At that point, we decided to invest in some proper equipment and make a go of it. Quickly we discovered a great interest in events and entertainment and have just continued to grow since then!

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

We have had lots of bookings through this platform now and a great variety of events at that which we like. One which sticks in our minds is a corporate event we did for PepsiCo in Bristol. It was a private welcome event for their competition winners. The gig went very well and we were even given free food from Pizza Hut and KFC! The best part was that it was only a 2-hour event in the daytime which meant we could take all of our kit straight off to another gig afterwards!
