Hotshots Entertainment is a full-time professional wedding DJ and photo booth specialist, covering the Bristol area and beyond that mainly provide their services for weddings. Here they suggest some great questions to ask a provider for when looking for a similar service for an event.
What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
For us to provide you with an exact quote, we would require the event date and venue, brief details of the event wedding etc. The number of guests attending, if the event is taking place in or outdoors and if the event is taking place on the ground level if upstairs we need to know if there is lift access. With this information, we can use our experience and expertise to make sure we have the right equipment for the job.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Always ask the provider what they have to offer, if they provide client meetings and if you can meet them before you decide to book. If you're looking for your wedding entertainment you really need to meet up with the provider (if possible) to ask certain questions you may have and what type of music they play. Will they take a playlist for you or design a template for your photo booth, if looking for a photo booth ask the provider what camera do they use to take the pictures? If it is a webcam or iPad you will not get the best results as you will from a DSLR camera that has been set up properly. The last thing you want is to book a photo booth and have blurry pictures.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
Hotshots Entertainment was born in 2001 after the love of singing on karaoke's Morf started the company to provide karaoke, after 12 months Morf worked out that everyone loved his music (DJ skills) over people singing. Then in 2015, we entered the world of photo booths to provide another outstanding service for weddings. Our passion is to provide the best professional service possible and being a full-time professional entertainment company we have your event the number one priority. Having won the best photo booth of 2018 in Bristol and a highly commended for our DJ services all in the same year was outstanding. We truly put a lot of work into each and every event and meet with every couple planning their special day.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
One booking I remember through Add to Event was for a photo booth in Bath for the university and the shopping centre. This was a very different event for us being outside in the shopping centre in the cold, it was great and loads of students used the photo booth. The client was very happy with what we did and the university radio station was right next to us putting out calls to say we were open. We can't wait to do the next event with them.
Many times we have not been available as we tend to get booked out very quickly so we have not had that too many bookings through here yet, but we're hoping to do a lot more!
