What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

To provide an accurate quote to a potential client I would first need to know the date of the event so I can check availability, location of the event and then a bit about the type of event you're having, but essentially the type of photography you are looking for so we can check we are a good fit for each other.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Ask the provider about their style and approach to photography. There are many different styles and what one may offer will be completely different from another, and asking how they work will help you decide if they are the right one for you. You could ask how long it would take to receive the images after the event and how you will access them. And lastly, I would ask to see some previous work to check that you like what you see.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

I used to work in Marketing and I was away from home a lot, I'd taken up photography on the side and had started helping out at weddings at weekends. A house move then prompted a job change and I grasped the opportunity to go self-employed and here I am a few years later ever grateful that I did!

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I'm relatively new to Add to Event so I can't wholly comment... but I will be back when I take the booking!
