What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
For us to provide a quote to a customer, we need an event date and approx starting time, an address, ideally a character/ party theme, the type of event and how many guests (children) will be attending. We have our own internal system that a customer can select these things from drop-down lists and they will then receive their tailored and complete quote with party plans and also how to confirm the booking.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I would always Google the provider, check ratings, pictures and insurance coverage. In a world where you cannot be too careful, it's always good to know the background of the company and that they are covered for all eventualities. I also try and see how big the team is should one of the entertainers fall ill, I'd like to know someone would still be able to attend.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
Brilliant Birthdays started by combining a passion for performing and a true love for working with children. We have been going strong for 14+ years and was recently bought by Mint & Pink Events. Our goal has always been to provide long-lasting memories and the combination of luxury bespoke decor and fabulous children's entertainment allows us to do just this, all under one roof! My two little girls are my world and if we can make all children as happy as we try to make our own, then our dreams have come true!
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
We joined Add to Event a few days ago and have already had a number of confirmed bookings and have sent out a huge number of quotes. This is such a great platform to bring a variety of clients to our fingers and continually allowing us to expand our customer base. Even if a client does not book our services, they have now heard about us - so we see each quote as direct and successful marketing. I would certainly recommend to others, in fact I have already recommended the platform to a mobile dessert business I regularly work with - The Pudding Project, and they're going to sign up!
