Dartmoor Dining, based in Devon, provide personal chefs to your home or holiday let for dinner parties, BBQs, buffets or whatever you would like.

What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

To enable us to provide a comprehensive quote to a customer, ideally we need the event date, the type of menu and service you would like, and what facilities are on-site for us to provide this. We can cater for any dietary requirement and are always happy to create a menu that is exactly what the client wants, rather than just have set menus. If you have an idea of your budget, we can then work on a fantastic menu that is perfect for your event.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

All of our menus are individually created for each client. Wherever possible we will always source our ingredients from local suppliers and independent shops to ensure our dishes are of the highest quality and taste, as well as supporting our local businesses. Being based in the heart of Devon, we are very lucky to have some fantastic farm shops, local butchers and fantastic ingredients right on our doorstep, so we know that we will be giving our clients the best.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Chef Wendy: As a trained chef with over 20 years experience in restaurant and hotel kitchens in the North of England and then Surrey, I relocated in 2013 to Devon and have worked as a private chef for companies such as Dineindulge, and have now established Dartmoor Dining so that I can further my passion for creating freshly cooked dishes at your home or holiday rental. The restaurant experience without having to leave the house. My focus is to provide my clients with beautifully presented dishes, using local ingredients. It could be an intimate anniversary dinner for two people or a wedding buffet for 200 guests, but the food quality and presentation will always be my utmost priority.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

Since joining the site in January 2022 it has been fantastic to get the responses from potential clients and my first booking was a delight. The client has put her review on for me and I couldn't have wished for a nicer group of guests to cook for. The event was a 60th birthday meal in Bigbury on Sea for 6 guests, and the whole evening was such a success. I would certainly recommend Add to Event and as a hospitality provider, the details supplied from the initial lead enable me to create a menu based on the client's requirements without having to wait for answers to the basic details needed to build this.
