What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For us to provide a quote, we ideally require the proposed event date, location, timings and approx. number of guests, along with a rough idea about the type of food you were looking for, don't worry if you are not sure as we have many options to choose from or we can help design a menu that suits you perfectly.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

There are many caterers out there, when deciding on a caterer you need to make sure firstly you feel comfortable with the people you're dealing with, a caterer can make or break your special event, find out as much as you can about the business, look at some of their other events, ask questions.

The more you know about what you want for your event the easier it will be to find a caterer that you know will make your event the best it can be.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Dale and Jo had always wanted to start a cafe but considered their ambition to be more of a retirement dream than a new career. However, in 2016 on a family visit to the UK (they were living in Australia at the time), the couple came across a cafe in Molesey and had a chat to the owner - the dream began to take shape. Even when they flew back to Australia the dream continued to dominate their thoughts and began to become more of a reality. In July 2017, the decision to take over the cafe and move to the UK became a reality and Miss Polly Cafe opened its doors in November 2017.

​Miss Polly have a passion for producing high quality, homemade products and dishes using locally sourced ingredients and suppliers. Community is central to the Miss Polly Team with exceptional customer service being key to their ethos.

Since starting out at Walton Road, Miss Polly now has a range of services and brands from casual family dining at Miss Polly Cafe and their new site at Miss Polly Riverside based at the East Molesey Cricket Club, to supper clubs, catering, bespoke dinners and major event catering. However, they pride themselves on never losing that personal touch and on their hands-on approach to every new venture.
