Claire Louise can create the right atmosphere for your special event simply singing a mix of well known jazz classics by the great jazz composers of years gone by. She has good advice for when hiring a singer to make sure of quality for your event.

What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

To provide a full quotation I need a location, date, timings, type of music required and venue/party size. I can then decide on suitable equipment and set lists/outfits, arrival time and put together a price.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Always look for someone who does a lot of the kind of gig you require. 1920s and 1940s styles are very specialised so if you book someone who does these frequently (like I do) you are assured better presentation, tried and tested set lists, and top quality performance. Also, remember that booking a cheaper act is likely to compromise the quality of a key element of your event.
Also, the quality of equipment is important as you want an act that can give a good sound.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

I developed a passion for singing from an early age but became a professional after developing my passion for vintage style music from 1920s jazz to 1940s wartime through to more modern sets.
This has built over time through word of mouth and I am now one of the most highly regarded vintage/jazz singers in my area.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

Being new to Add to Event I am yet to complete my first booking with them but am looking forward to this soon.
