Event Styling in Lincolnshire

Medici Design Events - provides a small and exclusive weddings & events stylist. Based in Newark on Trent and covering Notts/Lincs/East Mids, they provide affordable and unique balloon styling, venue styling and furniture hire.

What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

To enable us to provide a comprehensive quote, we will need the event date and time, the nature of the event, estimated number of guests, and information on the venue, for example indoor or outdoor, ground floor or first floor and above. We would also require any ideas you have on a colour scheme, any specific styles etc. We would also need to know which of our items you require, i.e. balloon garland decor, wedding backdrop, one of our complete packages, or something created just for you.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Advice I would give would be to be as specific as you can regarding what it is you want, rather than a generic 'decor for a party', for instance. A ballpark idea of your budget is also extremely helpful. check out their reviews and comments from previous customers.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Our team is headed up by Heidi, a creative and award-winning interior designer, and Robert, ex-US military man and workshop extraordinaire! We met online in late 2016 – Heidi lived in Nottinghamshire, England, and Robert in Florida, USA. It wasn’t love at first sight; it was love at first conversation! Two months and hours and hours of Facebook Messenger, email and phone calls later, Robert arrived at Heathrow airport on a grey January morning in 2017. By midnight, we were engaged. Fast-forward 10 months and one visa application process (that’s a whole other story!), we married on 1st November that same year. Struggling to find a suitable small venue and with a picky designer to satisfy, we decided to style our wedding somewhat differently from the norm. We carted ourselves and a crazy amount of furniture and décor 300 miles south to Devon, where we had a wonderful, emotional and intimate wedding in front of a select few friends and family. That experience led us to explore the possibility of creating beautiful and unique experiences for others, and so, Medici Design weddings & events was born.
