What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

To provide a full and personalised quote to a customer we need a few basic details, the date of wedding, time wedding will take place, how much coverage they are expecting, for example from bridal prep to first dance (which is a usual full days wedding photography package) and what sort of delivery they are expecting such as wedding albums or just digital images. From or years of experience photographing weddings we can advise on timings for the day and that will ultimately determine the customer's quote.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

You need to check their work out, look for consistency in their photographs as this will determine how your photos will look. Look for reviews, not just on here but also on social media, google or other platforms. Do they have a website or just a Facebook page? There are a lot of amateurs in the wedding photography game these days with cameras being a lot more accessible to anyone so make sure they have shot plenty of weddings and know what it involves.
Make sure you talk with them at the very least on a video call so you can gauge who they are and you can ask as many questions as you like.
The wedding industry is a midfield these days so do your research with any business and ASK QUESTIONS!!

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

I have been a photographer ever since leaving university in 1998. I worked on board cruise ships as a photographer working in a pressured environment but also having fun along the way. I returned home in 2001 and had assisted a friend at weddings a few times due to their partner's illness and just fell in love with it. It was what I thrived on, high pressure, fun and lots and lots of smiles and laughter. I started doing a few weddings and just got hooked. My passion for photography and my love for weddings make me smile every day.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

Getting a booking through Add to Event is always a joy. It is so easy to use, navigate and converse with clients safely and confidently.
One that springs to mind would be Jo & Steve who got married at Washingborough Hall in Lincoln. Both in high positions and very knowledgeable about taking on people contacted me through Add to Event as a trusted site they both used before. The day was amazing, surrounded by friends and family, full of love and laughter it couldn't have gone better. The sun shone on them and we got amazing photos.
