What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For us to provide a comprehensive quote to a customer, ideally we need the event date, a brief online of the type of event they're hosting, the estimated number of guests, and potential venue, whether it's an indoor or marquee event. From this, we can use our experience and expertise to put together a suitable equipment list and design.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Firstly, ask the caterer about the product they are offering, ask to see pictures of previous events they have catered for that are similar to your requests. Ask the caterer about their menu and for their professional advice, this can be invaluable. Also, find out what is included in the price. You don't want to be surprised by little extras that you weren't expecting further down the line.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

We are a husband and wife team that wanted to combine our skills and experience in the hospitality industry and give customers something a little bit special. We have catered for many, many weddings over the years and we are very proud of our flawless 5-star rating on social media. We love being a part of peoples special occasions whether that be a big birthday, christening their first child or getting married to the love of their life, it is a real privilege to be involved.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

We catered for someone's 50th birthday in their home. They started with canapés and champagne to get everyone in the party spirit and then followed with some amazing bowl foods with an 'around the world' theme. This was great because every guest found something to their taste and enjoyed a delicious meal without the formality of a seated dinner. Add to Event has been great for us and something that we wish to continue to promote in the future.
