What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

Firstly, we need to know what the organiser wants – what type of event e.g. is it a wedding, a party etc. How many people does the organiser intend to invite, do they have a theme in mind? What is the budget they have, where the proposed location, and what is the date of the event? All of this information enables us to create an accurate quote.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

We would say, beyond checking reviews, the website and reviewing how established the provider is i.e. how long have they been in business. Check that they are insured, check that they are qualified to provide the service you want, and try to be sure to have a consultation – in person, or virtually. Ask for examples of their previous work. Clarify exactly what you will be getting for your money, before committing. Lastly, check their COVID19 policy.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

We established ourselves in 2012, as we wanted to provide affordable wedding and event planning that doesn’t compromise quality and service. We found that wedding planning fees can be very high, and unaffordable for many clients, so we decided to deliver a lower cost, high-quality alternative. To ensure our quality remains high, we take on a limited number of weddings and events each year, have full insurance, and our planners all have a minimum level of qualification of Master’s Degree in event management or above. We also don’t take any commission from suppliers and ensure we select suppliers based on our client's needs.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

Add to Event have led to wedding and party bookings, all of which went well. Due to this platform, we have almost hit our maximum capacity for 2021!
