Sara Cumming - The Natural Celebrant provides an independent Celebrant creating ceremonies as unique as you are. Based in the Bath area, but covers the South West of England.
What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
In order to provide a comprehensive quote to a potential couple, I would need details of the date of the wedding, the venue and what they are looking for in terms of a bespoke ceremony. Ideally I would like to find out more about what their dream wedding looks like so that we can determine if we are a good 'fit' for one another.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I would advise a customer or a couple looking to hire a Wedding Celebrant, to really look at their profile to see if their personality is the type they are looking for. Every celebrant is different. Some are quirky, some are traditional. The customer or couple needs to think about what their ceremony would ideally look like, and find someone they gel with, who is similar to themselves. Someone who could feel like a 'friend'. This would ultimately produce the best, most personal and unique ceremony on the day.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
I had thought about being a Wedding Celebrant for a while but when my sister got engaged, I decided to train as a Celebrant so that I could surprise her and lead her wedding. This has snowballed and I am now working as a celebrant more and more as I feel that I have found a job I was always supposed to do - and I love everything about it, What's not to love about being part of a Wedding ?!
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
I have spoken to so many lovely couples who have made enquiries through Add to Event, which has been an amazing platform for new business and one I would highly recommend to other celebrants looking to expand their business. If I had to choose my favourite so far, it would be a Wedding Blessing I wrote and delivered for a fabulous couple earlier this year. They had got. married during the pandemic so this was a Blessing, so that their family and friends who weren't able to attend their small wedding, could be part of their celebrations. The wedding was due to take place in a barn, but as it was such a beautifully sunny day they decided to move it out on to the lawned area. The ceremony was just perfect, with tears and laughter in all the right places - but what made is so very memorable is the herd of cows in the next field that wandered over and wanted to take part and started mooing over the fence !
