K.T. Weddings know the wedding industry inside out and here they've been good enough to share some of their top tips on what to look for in your own wedding planner.

What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

In order to provide a comprehensive quote for an organiser to hire a wedding planner, we need to know the event date & whether a venue has been secured. Roughly what it is that is required, i.e, venue sourcing, supplier sourcing, on the day only coordination etc.

Generally we have a single fee, however, we do offer optional extras for the hiring of a wedding planner.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

First of all, have an idea of budget for your wedding. Most clients we meet are D.I.Y brides, and so everything is as cost effective as possible whilst still wanting the quality look & feel of a luxury wedding. Be realistic, it's so easy to get carried away with all of the little things (and the not so little things) a good planner will try accommodate you as best as, whereas a great planner will tell you where you need to hold back, and look at alternatives to suit your budget! Advice is invaluable, you need a planner that can give this to you properly & the best way to not fall flat, is to hire a planner that has a wealth of experience within this field.
You will then find that things come together very nicely indeed!

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

K.T. Weddings was formed after being in and around the wedding industry and lots of shapes & forms, from Wedding & event dresses, to stationary, to venue dressing, to finally settling on a huge love and passion for the planning side of things.
When I got married back in 2012 to my husband, it was a minefield, I honestly didn't know where to start, who did what, who to hire, where to shop, what I really needed to pull a wedding off! Despite having experience in all of these other fields, planning was a complete different story & it was stressful! From there, whilst I had my own wedding dress shop, I decided that I actually loved this side of things! So, I opted to run this alongside the dress business that I had, and then after working around the North and a little in the Midlands, I decided that the dress shop was to go & that I wanted to go into this full steam ahead, basing myself at home, as I had children that depended on me more than they do now. So with the huge support of my husband, we went from K.T. Bridal to K.T. Weddings.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

K.T. Weddings are new to Add to Event & we are very much looking forward to using this platform to meet new clients & build new relationships. It's a very exciting time or us as a company!
