Your choice of wedding first dance song provided as part of our package - you choose it, we’ll play it. Soul Federation are one of the North West's leading Soul/Motown bands. All seasoned musicians and including a really tight Brass Section, they perform the finest songs from Soul, Northern Soul and Blues Brothers. Songs made famous by musical ‘giants’ such as Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin and The Four Tops. Older and younger generations alike all enjoy these classic songs because some of the most legendary songwriters of all time wrote them – and they are timeless. Experienced in festivals with audiences of 6000 or more the Soul Federation are suitable for medium and larger venues where there is space to show off and make full use of a larger band. We pride ourselves on being professional and easy to work with and do everything we can to provide what you want for your evening. And on top of the professional and slick show, the band plays with infectious energy and enthusiasm, ensuring a packed dance floor all night! All equipment is PAT tested and we have £10M worth of Public Liability Insurance. We also have a great network of contacts within the industry so any special requirements can be easily quoted for and provided. Soul Federation play music to get you moving - they love soul, northern soul and Blues Brothers music, The first gig was June 2017 and they have since developed into a popular and well regarded act that is regularly rebooked. They added two female singers later to support their male lead singer in late 2017. This finalized the line-up of three-piece horn section – trumpet, sax, trombone, keys, percussion, rhythm, and bass guitars. In 2021 The Soul Federation welcomed Steve Hunter onboard as their new lead vocalist. Apart from headlining the Manchester Soul Festival Steve has been voted best male vocalist by the concert secretaries in Manchester, Tameside, Huddersfield, and West Yorkshire. Previously hosting a show on Chorley FM, Steve performed on the BBC TV programme ‘All Together Now.

Voted Best Wedding Band 2020 in the Book Entertainment awards for the Northern region. Soul Federation has played at The Cavern, closing the Liverpool Mod Weekender as well as Roughly’s Motorbike festival and DubbedOut Festival for 6000 people. In 2025, as part of our Soul Stroll and Party tour, they added theatres to their itinerary, including a sell out show at Darwen Library theatre.
