About Specs & Bear Horsebox Canteen
Specs & Bear are a new and vibrant small business based in Sevenoaks Kent. The journey started in the first lockdown where Specs took to more cooking then usual and started creating some amazing food she had discovered from when she travelled around the world in her younger days .The Bear ( who was obviously getting larger due to the great food and big bear portions) went along with Specs to see a friend and came back with an old Horsebox (like you do). From there a dream grew and then became a reality to where Specs & Bear was born.
It was a long hard slog but everyday we learnt new things and the passion grew to the point where the Horsebox was finished and a menu had been created.
We had an ethos which we stand by and that is to be part of our community and give something back when we can. We have sourced our local baker in Sevenoaks and also a local Sevenoaks Coffee roaster . We try to recycle where we can and use compostable condiment's as much as possible.
Now the Menu
Imagine Raclette cheese melted onto herby potatoes or nachos and topped with chilli beef followed off with lashings of salsa, guacamole and sour cream with gherkins , or what about a vegan version maybe?. we supply the finest Tea and coffee so maybe try a Builders brew tea or a smooth Ugandan roasted coffee from our vintage (overworked) coffee machine called Bella.
We have also created " Mac-clette" which is our famous cheese made into a posh Macaroni cheese dish using the finest ingredients. To top off the dish we sprinkle the Mac-clette with crispy fried onions and bread crumbs.
Just to keep us busy the " Bear Burger " was recently dreamed up .This is a Wagyu burger of the best quality grilled with gooey Raclette.
We can cater for any events but we do love a festival or local community event and we would also love to be invited to weddings where we will discuss your requirements. Specs & Bear are versatile so if you have an idea or theme contact us for an informal chat

AMAZING!!!
Specs & Bear are amazing! They have just catered for my sons engagement party. Obviously the food is incredibly important to the success of any party and theirs was beyond excellent. Every guest complimented them on it and also them as a couple. They are so lovely and warm and nothing was too much trouble. A great addition to any event!
The team at Specs & Bear were awesome. The number of my guests who commented on how great the food was is all the proof that I needed to show I had made the right decision. The whole set up was just perfect. The food was soooo tasty (especially the smoked cheese. Don’t worry about going hungry, not an issue. Phil and Sharon made everything so simple which is just what is needed when you are organising an event of any scale. The price is not cheap but that is because you are paying for proper food, so that’s cool with me too. Phil is a lovely chap and so friendly to the punters, nothing was too much trouble. The popcorn machine was a nice Brucy Bonus too! Simply fabulous and thanks to the team!

Spec & Bear - Amazing from start to finish!
Wow, wow wow! We loved Spec and Bear. Food was off the scale tasty, raclette cheese was to die for, everything super tasty, fresh and fabulous party food. Our guests loved the whole thing from the lush food to the cute horse box and the amazing pair, Spec and Bear! Such lovely people, great fun and nothing was too much trouble, we cannot thank them enough for making our Christmas party so special. We will be booking again! Thank you both.
