Our Story
I started Daddy Bear Grills to share my love for cooking over real flames and the connection it creates between food, fire, and people. After years of working in sport and mentoring others, I wanted to bring that same energy and teamwork to the table, quite literally. What began as a few backyard BBQ experiments quickly grew into woodland feasts, private chef experiences, and corporate events where everyone gathers, cooks, and eats together.
I’m inspired by the primal art of open fire cooking, the crackle, the smoke, the flavours you can’t fake and by the joy on people’s faces when they taste food that’s been kissed by the flames.

Led by Wayne Smith, the heart and fire behind Daddy Bear Grills, our small team brings passion, precision, and personality to every event. Wayne is a live-fire chef who believes food should be an experience, not just a meal. Behind the flames, our crew supports setup, service, and smooth delivery so you can sit back and enjoy the show. Together, we create incredible food, unforgettable moments, and fireside memories that last long after the embers fade.

With years of experience delivering live fire feasts, private chef dining, and corporate events, I’ve cooked for hundreds of guests across the UK. From intimate woodland dinners to large-scale food festivals.
As the face of Daddy Bear Grills, I’ve led live fire demonstrations at major events, including The Great British Food Festivals, Pub in the Park, and Ludlow Food Festival, showcasing wood-fired cooking to thousands.
Each milestone has been fuelled by a passion for turning simple ingredients into unforgettable experiences cooked over flames, shared with laughter, and remembered long after the fire burns out.
