DJ Big Poppa is a London-based open-format DJ built around one idea: the ear comes first. Where most DJs lean on a single sound or a stock playlist, he draws on unusually deep musical knowledge — French Touch, house, Afro house, dancehall, R&B — and reads the room in real time to land the right record at the right moment. The result is a set that feels curated, not shuffled: high energy, carefully sequenced, made for grown audiences who dance with intention. An engineer by profession, he brings rare reliability to a craft known for the opposite — meticulous preparation, professional communication, and a set that runs exactly as promised. I came to DJing the way most people with an obsessive ear eventually do: after years of being the person who controlled the playlist at every gathering, I decided to take it seriously. My background is in engineering, which shaped how I approach music: methodically, with deep preparation and an instinct for systems. I spent years building a library across French Touch, house, Afro house, dancehall, R&B and beyond … not to play everything, but to always have the right record for the right moment. That ear, and the discipline behind it, is what DJ Big Poppa is built on. My sets are built live, not pre-programmed: I read the room and take the energy where it needs to go.

I have performed at private events across London since 2024, playing for professional crowds at milestone celebrations and corporate gatherings. In 2025 I was invited to perform at La Zambra, Malaga: a high-energy international set that confirmed what London clients had already told me: this works on any room, in any country. Alongside live performance, I run The Big Booth, an ongoing DJ mix series documenting my sound, including the French Touch / Nu-Disco release Midnight Paris and the high-energy Bloghouse Voltage. I also hold a regular slot on Ibiza Stardust Radio.

My clients are typically professionals in their 30s and 40s who care about the quality of their event and want music that reflects that. They’re not looking for a generic party DJ, they want someone who will read the room, bring genuine taste, and make the night feel considered. Most of my bookings fall into three categories: corporate events and brand gatherings where the music needs to work across a professional crowd; private celebrations (milestone birthdays, anniversaries, summer parties) where the host wants the night to be remembered; and curated lifestyle events where atmosphere is everything.

Trained on club-standard Pioneer CDJ-3000 / DJM-900NXS2 equipment. Primary setup: Pioneer DDJ-FLX4 with full Rekordbox library management , every track tagged by genre, key, and BPM for precision set-building. Engineering background bringing systematic preparation and clear client communication to every booking. Available for private celebrations, corporate events, and venue residencies across London and internationally.
