Hi, I’m Elliot – the face behind Elliot Coates Photography. Born and raised in Nottingham, my love for photography began at just 11 years old when I picked up my first camera. Since then, I’ve always felt more at home behind the lens, capturing the world one frame at a time. I went on to study A-Level Photography, where I developed both my technical skills and creative eye. After three years of focused learning, I launched my own business – turning a lifelong passion into a professional path. I now specialise in wedding and portrait photography, working in a relaxed, candid, and documentary style with a subtle editorial edge. Whether it’s quiet glances or joyful bursts of laughter, I’m drawn to those real, unscripted moments that tell your story authentically.

Like many others, the pandemic brought unexpected changes to my life. During that time, I joined the NHS frontline – a role I still hold to this day. That experience shaped me in profound ways, teaching me the importance of empathy, resilience, and meaningful human connection – qualities I bring into every shoot. No matter what I’m photographing, my goal is simple: to help people feel at ease, be themselves, and trust me to capture moments that truly matter. Let’s create something meaningful together.
