Our Pie & Mash Taxi serves homemade pies, made from scratch in our commercial kitchen and cooked fresh on site. Choose from our classic menu and seasonal guest pie, with vegetarian and vegan options available. Each pie is served with creamy mash and your choice of gravy or traditional parsley liquor; garden peas or mushy peas can also be added.
Our Coffee Taxi serves professionally prepared barista coffee using locally roasted beans from Horsham Coffee Roasters. Our full coffee menu includes alternative milks and syrups.
For corporate events and brand activations, either taxi can be branded with your company’s colours, logo or campaign messaging.
We cater for weddings, staff lunches, corporate functions and private celebrations. Our experienced team handles the setup and service, giving you a memorable focal point as well as quality food and drink.
Our Story
I worked in the family business myself, but I had always been passionate about cooking. After attending evening cookery classes, I decided to combine that passion with our family heritage.
The Pie & Mash Taxi was born, bringing together two London icons: the black cab and traditional pie and mash. We later added our Coffee Taxi, allowing us to offer quality barista coffee from a second converted cab.
Today, we bring that combination of family history, homemade food and memorable service to weddings, corporate events and private celebrations.
Our Team
I’m Jamie, the founder of Ronnie’s Black Cab. I manage the enquiries and event planning, make pies and prepare for events in our kitchen, and regularly work on the taxis at events.
Carly works alongside me in the kitchen and at events. She can run services independently, and we work together on larger bookings. We’re also supported by a trusted team of experienced freelancers when an event needs additional staff.
Experience
Our clients have included Microsoft and Rimmel London, and we’ve appeared live on ITV’s This Morning. We now operate two converted catering taxis from our own dedicated commercial kitchen and storage unit.
That experience means we understand the importance of clear planning, punctual arrival, professional presentation and efficient service. We work closely with every client and venue to help the event run smoothly from setup through to service.

We’re equally comfortable at an intimate gathering or a larger event and tailor the service to suit the venue, timings and guest numbers.
Credentials
Our team holds the relevant food-hygiene qualifications, and we maintain public liability insurance and the safety documentation required for professional event catering.

Ronnie delivered an outstanding service from start to finish. He arrived early and set up seamlessly without a hitch, showing both professionalism and a down-to-earth attitude that instantly put everyone at ease. His genuine interest in his customers made the experience feel personal and welcoming. His personality really shone through. The pies themselves were excellent—fully packed, hearty, and full of flavour. Ronnie even brought backup extras, which turned out to be a lifesaver when some “naughty elves” couldn’t resist going back for seconds. What really stood out was his self-sufficiency.
