A Passion Born from Saturday Mornings and Football. My love for fish and chips began when I was just a lad of 12 or 13. Every Saturday morning, I’d hop on my bike and cycle to my uncle’s house to watch the football. But before kick-off, we’d queue at the local chippy for cod and chips — a pre-match ritual that, as a long-suffering Canary fan, was often the highlight of the day! That simple joy stuck with me, and when I left the army in the early 2000s, I knew exactly what I wanted to do: run my own chippy. In 2004, I completed the Fish Fryers Course with the National Federation of Fish Friers (NFFF) in Leeds and bought my first shop — the very same one on Parmenter Road where my uncle and I used to queue all those years ago. Over the years, I worked in several fish and chip shops around Norwich, learning from some true old-school legends of the trade. In 2015, I had the privilege of managing one of the busiest (and in my opinion, still the best) chippies in Norwich — Long John Hill Fish Bar. If you’re ever in the area, it’s well worth a visit! In 2021, I moved up North and took my passion on the road. After gaining experience with another mobile catering company, I launched my own street food business, serving the same much-loved fish and chips that started it all.

From Army Boots to Fryer Baskets — A Journey in Fish & Chips After leaving the army in 2001, I began working as an assistant manager for a fish and chip wholesaler. It was here that I gained invaluable insight into the products and supply chains that form the backbone of the industry. This experience laid the foundation for what would become a lifelong passion. In 2004, I completed my fryer training with the National Federation of Fish Friers (NFFF) in Leeds and purchased my first fish and chip shop in Norwich — the very same one I used to visit with my uncle as a boy. Four years later, I expanded by acquiring a second, well-established and bustling shop near Norwich city centre. After several successful years and a move up North, I decided to take everything I’d learned on the road. Today, I serve delicious, freshly cooked fish and chips from our fully equipped mobile van, bringing quality and tradition directly to events across the region. We’ve had the pleasure of catering for TV companies, well-known personalities, leading corporate clients, and countless weddings and private parties. Many of our customers return time and again — a testament to the quality of our food and the warmth of our service.
