Sophie April Photography is all about telling the story of your wedding or event in a natural, modern, and relaxed way. I capture real moments as they happen, without getting in the way, so you can fully enjoy your day while I quietly create beautiful images in the background.
Most of my couples say it felt like having a friend at their wedding — someone who helped them feel comfortable and at ease. That relaxed approach doesn’t mean I stop being creative though as I bring an artistic eye to everything I do, and I am grateful to say my work has been award-winning over the years.
With 15 years of wedding experience, I truly know how to capture your day honestly, beautifully, and with personality.

Our Story
I’ve always been a passionate creative and I genuinely love working with people — so photography became the perfect dream job. Bringing those two things together allows me to create something meaningful while connecting with people on one of the most important days of their lives.
I’m inspired by the people I work with, their style, their stories, and the world around me. Every wedding and event is different, bringing its own energy and personality, and that constantly feeds into my work and what I create. No two days are ever the same, and that’s what I love most.

Hello, I'm Sophie! I’m a professional photographer based near Bristol, specialising in weddings & events. I’ve been doing the job I love for over 15 years and I’m hugely passionate about creativity, working with people, and collaborating with other creatives. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of capturing the story of wonderful individuals, always with the aim of creating images that reflect your unique story.
Experience
I’ve been working in the photography industry for over 15 years, building a business I’m truly proud of. Along the way, I’ve reached some key milestones — winning an award for my wedding photography at a Cotswolds venue, opening my own high street studio, and having the opportunity to work with so many incredible clients.
I’ve also loved collaborating with inspiring creatives and businesses over the years, which continues to push my work forward and keep it fresh. Every project, client, and collaboration has helped shape the photographer and business I am today.

Typical Clients
I focus mainly on weddings and events, working with couples and clients who want relaxed, natural photography that tells the real story of their day. I love capturing genuine moments, real emotion, and celebrations as they unfold.
Alongside weddings and events, I also work with families and children, creating warm, natural portraits, as well as with businesses who need strong, professional imagery for their marketing and branding.
My studio is based near Bristol, but I’m happy to travel anywhere in the UK to photograph your wedding, event, or project.
