Tamp & Grind

Tamp & Grind is a specialty coffee brand with three sites across West Sussex, built on a "specialty coffee, no snobbery" philosophy — proper coffee, no pretension. Our mobile coffee van is a fully-electric VW ID Buzz, fitted out with a 2-group La Marzocco Linea PB and proper off-grid power, so you get exactly the same quality drink you'd find in one of our shops, wherever your event is.

We run high-end, one-off event bookings — weddings, private parties, corporate days — rather than regular pitches, so your event gets our full attention. Whether it's espresso, flat whites, or something more relaxed, we tailor the offering to suit the day.

I spent nearly two decades in the fire service, first in Hampshire then in London, before swapping one kind of shift work for another. Coffee started as a side project — a converted tuk tuk — and grew from there into Tamp & Grind, now three shops across West Sussex. The philosophy has stayed the same throughout: specialty coffee, no snobbery.

Great coffee shouldn't come with attitude, and that's exactly what we bring to the coffee van — proper espresso from a La Marzocco Linea PB, served by people who actually know what they're doing, without any of the pretension.

Three specialty coffee sites across West Sussex — Burgess Hill, Lancing and a concession at Chanctonbury Wines in Steyning — built up since leaving nearly 20 years in the fire service. Our mobile offering brings the same quality to events: a fully-electric VW ID Buzz coffee van fitted with a 2-group La Marzocco Linea PB, run by baristas who work the bar every day, not just at weekends.

We cater for weddings, private parties and corporate events across West Sussex and the surrounding area. We work with couples wanting a proper coffee bar for their guests, event organisers looking for a reliable, high-quality supplier, and businesses wanting good coffee for staff days, conferences or client events. We take on a select number of one-off bookings each month, so every event gets our full attention.
