Meet James — Tendring Event DJs

Hi, I’m James, the owner of Tendring Event DJs. For me, creating unforgettable events isn’t just a job it’s what I love to do.

My journey in the entertainment industry began many years ago as a professional drummer in a busy wedding and function band, performing at celebrations of all kinds while also providing DJ services alongside the live music. That experience gave me a real understanding of what makes an event work, how to read a crowd, build an atmosphere, and create those moments that get everyone on their feet.

Although I no longer drum professionally, I’ve taken everything I learned from those years on stage and poured it into my passion for DJing, entertainment, sound and lighting, and I genuinely love every minute of it.

It is more than just playing music, every event is different, and that’s exactly what makes it so exciting. Whether I’m entertaining guests at a wedding, birthday, corporate event, anniversary or special celebration, I take the time to understand what you want your event to feel like. Your music, your style, your atmosphere, everything is tailored around you.

I don’t believe in simply turning up, pressing play and standing behind a booth. I create an atmosphere, I read the room, build the energy and put on a show. From the moment the music starts to the final song of the night, my goal is to keep your guests entertained, engaged and talking about your event long after the last dance.

With years of experience in professional sound, lighting and event production, I offer much more than a traditional DJ setup. I’m proud to be the resident DJ at both The Waterfront and The Royal Oak in Harwich, Essex, performing regularly for a wide range of audiences and occasions. Alongside my venue residencies, I personally perform at around 80–90 events every year, from unforgettable weddings and milestone birthdays to private celebrations, corporate events and everything in between.

That level of experience means I’ve seen it all different venues, different crowds, different music tastes and different expectations. Most importantly, I know how to read the room, build the atmosphere and keep the dance floor alive. But experience isn’t just about the number of events I’ve performed at. It’s about knowing when to turn the energy up, when to change direction, and how to choose the right music to keep your guests engaged and having an incredible time. Your event is a one-off. We primarily provide DJ services for weddings and private parties, but we also cater to corporate events, delivering the same high-quality entertainment for business functions and professional gatherings.
