About The Hog Boss

We are a family-run small business! We make it our priority to make the food side of your event hassle-free.

We specialise in hog roasts done a little differently, using pellet smokers to cook our meat to produce the most tender, juicy pork rolls around.

After more than a hog roast? We offer a variety of sides to accompany our pork! And can create bespoke menus tailored you your event.

Our Story

The Hog Boss began from a genuine love of cooking and bringing people together over great food. What started as making slow-cooked pork for friends and family soon grew into a small catering business as more people wanted the same flavour and experience at their events.

I’m inspired by serving simple, generous, great-tasting food and creating a relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere. Every roast is prepared with care, with a focus on quality, food safety, and friendly service. The Hog Boss is built on passion, good value, and the satisfaction of seeing people enjoy a proper hot pork roll done right.

Our Team

The Hog Boss is a small, family-run team led by me, John, with support from Charlotte, Mickey, and Poppy. We each play our part to make sure every event runs smoothly — from prepping and cooking to serving and keeping everything organised behind the scenes.

We work closely together, and our strength comes from being a hands-on, reliable team that cares about good food and great service.

Experience

Although The Hog Boss is a growing business, it’s built on years of hands-on cooking experience and catering for family events, celebrations, and local gatherings. Over time, this has developed into a professional service with a strong reputation for tasty food and smooth, reliable events.

A key milestone for us has been moving from casual cooking to fully licensed, inspected catering, providing high-quality slow-cooked pork and consistent service. We’re proud of the positive feedback we receive and the trust customers place in us when choosing The Hog Boss for their important occasions.

Credentials

The Hog Boss operates with full food safety compliance, including Level 2 Food Hygiene certification and registration with the local Food Standards Agency. In addition, I hold a Level 2 NVQ in the Meat and Poultry Industry, giving me specialist knowledge in handling, preparing, and cooking meat safely and to a high standard.

These credentials support the professionalism behind our family-run business and ensure every event is carried out with safe, reliable, and skilled catering.
