About Valley Street Kitchen

Operating from a fully equipped 8ft catering trailer, Valley Street Kitchen can cater for a wide range of events, including festivals, weddings, birthdays, football and rugby presentations, pub and fireworks events, corporate functions and large workforce catering.

Our menu can be tailored to suit each event and includes popular options such as beef burgers, chicken shawarma wraps, hot dogs, loaded/dirty fries, jacket potatoes, curry and rice, with additional menus available on request.

The business is fully self-contained, with its own water supply, refrigeration, cooking equipment, generators and professional catering facilities, allowing us to operate at a wide range of locations.

Valley Street Kitchen also provides commercial shutdown and workforce catering, supplying hot, freshly prepared meals directly to workers on-site. We have experience catering for large workforces and are particularly interested in working with construction, industrial and commercial sites across South Wales and the wider UK.

Based in Pontypool, Valley Street Kitchen is available for bookings throughout South Wales and beyond.

Our Story

Valley Street Kitchen was created from a genuine passion for food, hospitality and providing people with good-quality, freshly prepared meals wherever they are.

The idea grew from my experience running Spud Inc, a jacket potato business in Newport. I started the business from a small catering trailer and built it up into a successful shop in Friars Walk. This gave me valuable hands-on experience in catering, customer service, food preparation, managing staff, purchasing stock, running a busy food operation and understanding what customers want.

After seeing how well the mobile catering side of the business performed, I decided to take that experience forward and develop Valley Street Kitchen as a dedicated mobile catering business. The aim is to bring good food directly to customers rather than relying on a fixed premises.

What inspires me most is seeing people enjoy the food and knowing that we have provided a service that makes an event, workplace or occasion better. I also enjoy the variety of mobile catering — no two events are the same, and we get to work with different communities, businesses and organisations.

My background is primarily hands-on. I have built my experience through actually running food businesses and catering operations rather than simply having a theoretical background in hospitality. I understand the pressures involved in producing food efficiently, maintaining high standards, controlling costs and delivering a reliable service.

Valley Street Kitchen is now focused on developing the business further, particularly in event catering, corporate and workforce catering, festivals, sporting events and commercial shutdowns. Our goal is to build a strong, reliable catering business that can operate across South Wales and eventually further afield.

Experience

I have several years of hands-on experience in the food and catering industry, having built and operated my own food business from the ground up.

One of my biggest milestones was starting Spud Inc from a small mobile catering trailer and growing the business into a permanent shop in Friars Walk, Newport. This journey gave me extensive experience in food preparation, customer service, stock management, staffing, event catering and running a busy food operation.

The business built a strong local following and gained significant exposure through social media, including a TikTok video featuring the business receiving more than 800,000 views. We also developed our offering by introducing additional food options and catering for local community and sporting events.

Another achievement I am particularly proud of is being able to provide food for community initiatives and local events, including supplying meals to people in need. These experiences reinforced how important good food and reliable catering can be within a community.

I have also gained experience catering for commercial and workforce events, including working with larger organisations and providing food for workers on-site.

Valley Street Kitchen is the next stage of that journey. I am bringing together everything I have learned from running a food business and applying it to a professional mobile catering operation, with a focus on quality food, reliability and excellent customer service.

While we are a growing business and do not currently claim any formal industry awards, our biggest achievement is the experience we have gained, the customers we have served and the reputation we have built through hard work and delivering a quality service.

Typical Clients

Valley Street Kitchen works with a wide range of customers, from private individuals to large organisations and businesses.

Our typical clients include event organisers, businesses, construction and industrial companies, sports clubs, pubs, festivals and private customers looking for reliable catering at their event or workplace.

We cater for events such as weddings, birthdays, football and rugby presentations, festivals, community events, fireworks and bonfire nights, corporate functions and private parties.

We also specialise in workforce and commercial shutdown catering, providing hot, freshly prepared meals directly on-site for workers. This is particularly suitable for construction, engineering, industrial and commercial sites where large numbers of staff need convenient food without leaving the workplace.

Our customers generally value good-quality food, competitive pricing, flexibility and a professional, reliable service. Because we operate from a fully equipped mobile catering trailer, we can travel to different locations and adapt our menu and service to suit the size and requirements of each booking.

We primarily serve customers across South Wales, with the ability to travel further for larger events and commercial contracts.
