About Beyond Belief Magic
I am a full-time professional covid safe close-up magician, specialising in weddings and corporate events, but also perform at parties, dinners, charity occasions, bars/restaurants and festivals throughout Scotland and beyond. I specialise in close-up card magic, but also perform magic with other objects like a ring, etc...and provide some mind reading magic as well. Many guests can keep souvenirs including playing cards, envelopes, chocolate bars, pin-badges, etc...I am well known for magic various objects disappear and reappear in impossible locations.
The type of magic I provide mostly is strolling magic round small groups of people and/or sitting at a table.
I have had the pleasure of performing for some well known companies, including EY, Royal Bank of Scotland, Baillie Gifford, Scottish Whisky Association, Glasgow Science Centre and the National Museum of Scotland. I am also resident close-up magician at the world famous Pleasance Courtyard during the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. I’m also resident magician at The Pitt Street Market (Edinburgh) and Heb Celt Fest (Stornoway).
As part of my company Beyond Belief Magic, I also teach magic to beginners and intermediate level, both on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.

Brilliant show!
Jim provided top class magic to guests at a birthday party and kept adults and children entertained and enthralled by his tricks and professionalism. He even stayed extra time to make sure he was able to get around all of the tables and chat to the guests. He certainly added that extra special touch to the occasion. i would not hesitate in recommending Jim to others. Thanks for the magic!!!
Great - Jim is a great performer
The 11-12 kids (8-10yr old) were amazed by Jims instant closeup magic and he captured his audience appropriately and completely in the breaks inbetween their recording session. Good magic and lots of 'no-way' 'wow' and stunned silent reactions. Well dome Jim thanks alot
Truly amazing tricks and kept everyone entertained
Jim was the highlight of our Christmas party, and wowed all our guests with an assorted array of tricks. I asked him to walk around the tables showing people tricks and people couldn't get enough of him!
I would recommend to anyone, although he was expensive (reason for 4 stars on value).
Superb entertainment!
Jim attended our gents presentation of prizes as our post presentation entertainment. From start to finish a consummate professional, exceptional talent, mystifying magic throughout the event. Kept everyone entertained, was a significant change from our usual ‘after dinner speaker’. Brilliant night for all.

First and only businessman to reply to my ad and it was a privilege to have Jim proform for a room full of silly sailors and our guests. The Magic, sense of humour and the way he worked the room was excellent. Highly recommended and I will be passing his contact details to my fellow ship mates for future events held by the Navy.

Jim is magic! We hired him for a small after dinner event (10 diners) and he truly wowed everyone. Not the cheesy magic but great tricks that generated much entertainment. I would definitely recommend and we will be hiring again and for magic lessons!
