Here they share their experience and some great advice for choosing a similar provider and what checks to make.

What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For us to provide the most informative and useful quote, other than the obvious event details we would always suggest you find a venue before you look for suppliers. This gives us the confidence to know what type of venue we are quoting for and selecting the right kind of kit for the job. If you wish we can then make our own enquiries directly with venue for the small but important details like loading/unloading, access, parking and so on, saving you time and worry.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

This is a very competitive market place filled with a vast range of suppliers all of varying quality of service and equipment. We have years of experience at forefront audio and visual production, and much of our own kit reflects the very high standards we strive for, and as such is very expensive. The trick is trying to get this across to potential customers where they have found our quotes may be similar in price, but they don't understand our kit is worlds apart! How do we do this without getting all technical? - Answers on a postcard!
Essentially, the cheapest price almost always will not offer the best value. Look at the kind of jobs your potential supplier does, ask to see their insurance - and check it! Don't forget about Portable Appliance Testing (PAT). If it involves anything remotely risky, pyro, cable runs etc, insist on a risk assessment.
Deposits are usually required but don't make payments in any way that make you uncomfortable - and insist on an invoice, be suspicious if they only accept cash.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Here at Fusion Events, we have for as long as we can remember been involved in audio and visual entertainment. Understanding to the level we do of how event technology works enabled us to quickly gain a reputation of extremely high-quality services, even from the early days of DJing for friends and family.
We are inspired by big productions with epic light shows, pyrotechnics and awesome spine-tingling sound and to this day it still excites us! Our goal is to provide a bit of this to you, at all levels with a quality of service, professionalism and kit that surpasses all expectations, and utterly blows the competition away.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

We are new to Add to Event and are still finding our feet, but the platform seems pretty mature with what it offers and at a fair price. The volume of enquiries is good, customer support is responsive and as such, I have recommended it to others.
As for our bookings, the first one we picked up was an enquiry from a new customer for looking for an outdoor cinema provider. We jumped at this, and they put their trust in us to carry it out as promised. It just so happened that it rained on the day, but our advance planning and alternative indoor options (we are weather geeks as well!) worked perfectly, they had a fantastic event and cannot wait to do another.
