What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
It is really important to send across an event date, location, a set up and take down time, what you are celebrating, if the event is indoor or outdoor and if there is a theme. Basically the more information you can provide, the better. We understand that you won't always have the venue booked, but you may have one in mind or even an area.
We can do multiple set ups a day, which is why it's important to get as much information as possible and stick to the agreed times. We will do what we can and be as flexible as we can, but we do sometimes work to really tight schedules.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I would advise to check reviews, reviews from clients are so important and they speak volumes. Also, I would go through their social media accounts and check photos that they have been tagged in by clients, check comments under photos. Make sure the work you see on their social media is actually theirs. As a business owner, I pride myself on providing the best customer service I can and also supplying the best quality backdrops and props, if I am not happy with my props, how can I expect a paying client to be?
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
Like most small events businesses, I was organising an event. It was my best friends baby shower, I was looking to hire a flower wall, but I couldn't find anything in my area that met my criteria, so I starting thinking "why can't I do this myself?" next thing you know, I was making my first purchase. I started out with two backdrops, my pink and ivory floral hoops and have since added and flower wall, Prosecco wall, light up numbers and balloon decor to my portfolio. I have been running this business for the last 12 months and I absolutely love it!
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
I can't thank the person who told me about this website enough! I found it super easy to set up my profile, so I could show off my hire items. Confirming my first booking was quick and easy, I was so, so happy, I find communicating with clients very easy and the website (desktop and phone) are easy to navigate. The review system is great, I think I have only had 1 client who didn't bother to leave me a review, but all other clients have and I believe that is down to Add to Event's reminder emails.
My first booking was for my flower wall and it was an 18th birthday party, the girl was so lovely and she absolutely loved my flower wall, from that 2 of her friends also booked it for their 18th parties!
