What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

The event location, ideally a full address, date, actual start time of the event and end time of the event. We then ask the client to factor in our setup time of approx 90mins and downtime time of approx 60mins.
What type of event the client is going to hold, Birthday Party, Wedding Reception, Corporate function, Anniversary or any other type of celebration? If its a surprise event, what are the timings going to be? Very important to understand this so the surprise works. Is the venue on the ground floor and what is the access like. Whether the event is indoors or outdoors. Again this is quite critical, if it's outside, what sort of cover will I be playing under and will my equipment be protected from the elements in case of rain.
Estimated number of guests.. Do we need to bring our full setup or just decks and music to plug into house owned system? A lot of venues have their own in-house sound systems and lighting.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Ask them to provide real customer feedback/references from any previous events that they have done. Can they supply any videos or photos of their setups and actual events that they have done? Equipment should always be top quality, with a good sound system that produces quality and clear sound and lighting to compliment the music.
Can the DJ take requests on the night? Can the DJ work to a supplied playlist.. A good DJ will know what will work and what won't work at the time of the party.
Next, is do they have public liability insurance, along with PLI, the equipment should always be electrically tested by an outsourced PAT testing company.
I believe utmost, the DJ should be friendly and approachable.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

I bought my first mixer and a pair of turntables at the age of 15 from saving up my Saturday job money. I used to be a bedroom DJ for a long time making mix tapes for my friends. Moving on a few years, I managed to land a roadie job on a large local disco, this is where I did my apprenticeship. They taught me a lot, not just about Dj'ing but people management and how to work with venues. They eventually let me on the decks for the initial warm-up sessions and I loved it.

Today, I run my own professional Mobile Disco company. I have worked extremely hard to get to where I am today, professional sounding audio and lighting along with an ever-growing range of music genres.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

One which stands out recently was a corporate event for a well-known car manufacturer. As soon as I placed by bid on the Add to Event site the client called me to discuss booking my services, it was a very quick turnaround and after our conversation, he marked the lead as confirmed to me.
From that point, we exchanged several emails about their needs for the evening and about timings, my contact was very accommodating and helpful.
I made contact with the venue team as I initially had some questions around parking and they were very helpful.The night went extremely well and the client was very happy and put a 5 star review on the site.
