What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

To provide an accurate quote to a customer, we need the event date with a brief explanation of the type of event being hosted, the estimated amount of guests, duration and event location. Ideally a confirmed venue is preferred for us to research and confirm that the event is indoors or under cover, if sound limiters are used and other technical aspects etc. From this we will put together professional, fair and competitive quote based on equipment requirements, expertise and time.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Ask the supplier what equipment they are offering and check it is up to standard, pat tested and insured for public liability, make sure they are happy putting together requested playlists to match the vibe and theme of your event. Ensure you are working with friendly suppliers that care about their work, customers and business. Make sure contracts and secure payment systems are in place and there is a plan should a DJ be unavailable on the day of your special event.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Press Record Live was born out of a love for music and events. Having been a festival and club DJ for almost 20 years running and performing at private events and functions part-time while working full-time professionally in the music industry, in 2022 my wife and I decided to take our business full-time. Its been a busy start to 2023 and we are really excited to see where the next few years can lead.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

Our booking experience through Add to Event has been great. One customer booked us for a wedding in Cheshire and found both our music system and our logistical flexibility fantastic. Being able to build a playlist of 100 songs for the Wedding reception and arrange an early set up so we are out of the way first thing in the morning so as to not interrupt the proceedings during the day. The booking was easily arranged through the Add To Event platform and finalised through the contact details provided.
