What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
For us to provide a quote to a customer, we need the event date, brief on the type of event they're hosting, estimated number of guests, venue and whether it's an indoor or outdoor event.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Firstly, can you paint faces - that's the most important question. Do they have experience with children? Although it's a quick turnaround in the chair, its super important to build a quick rapport with children, it helps them to relax while you paint them. Do they drive? seems like a silly question but some don't and that can cause issues if they are relying on someone else to drive them to jobs or public transport.
Most importantly, are the paints and glitters they use, safe and approved
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
Fun Fact..... My first ever job was as a face painter and I absolutely loved it!
Fast forward in "finding my calling" and I set up my own business writing children's books, which has been successful. I still write books but I wanted to somehow engage with children more. This is where my weekly themed arts and craft classes started, which has continued to go and go from strength to strength.
The passion came back to me and I started painting again and it's so good to be back!
