What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

In order for me to give a full quotation, it's really helpful if a customer can provide us with the basic event details such as: how many people are attending, the time they would like delivery and if they have any special dietary requirements. It can also be really useful to know if a customer would like to see examples of menus, or if they prefer to be directed to a website to look at menus themselves.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Depending on if it is a corporate customer or a private event, the catering requirements can be really different. So I would suggest to anyone looking to order outdoor catering, that they try to have in mind the type of catering they are looking for; if they want hot food, cold food, fancy or basic. Is budget really important to them? After asking these questions, you can usually find different caterers that meet each of these needs. You can usually find testimonials on catering company websites or check out their social media for very honest reviews!

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Couch Catering opened 2 coffee shops in Sheffield in 2014, and soon saw the potential to expand into outside catering. Having personally worked as a caterer for 6 years now, and with a background in hotel wedding and event planning, I was the person taken on to develop all aspects of the outside catering business. I enjoy working really closely with my customers to ensure they have the exact buffet they are looking for - whether this is for a meeting/training day for a corporate customer or for a christening/birthday party for a private hirer. By tailoring each menu and really listening to the customers we can offer a really personal service, so although we have standard menus on offer, we never insist you order these as I really feel passionate about giving that individual service!

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

When we first signed up, I didn't get too many leads through that I could fulfil. But in the last 6-12 months this has rapidly increased, so I would definitely recommend Add to Event to others! We've had private events for christenings and weddings through here, as well as corporate customers! In fact, just a few weeks ago I had both in one day! It was a Sunday where I had a Christening booked through yourselves in the afternoon which was great in itself. But then on the Thursday, I also received a lead through for a two-day conference that weekend for a corporate user, which was quickly confirmed once I sent my quote through! I'm delighted to say both events were successful, and the corporate user has already booked us for their next event!! We are a small business with a small marketing budget so having a website like this with really good quality leads is super helpful to me.
