What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

In order for us to be able to provide you with the best possible quote, please let us know the date of your event, where it is taking place, and the number of guests you expect (a breakdown of adults / children is always very helpful too!). Don't worry if you haven't finalised the details yet, just let us know and give us a rough idea. It is also helpful if you let us know a bit more about the event you are planning, for example whether it's a wedding or a corporate party, or whether it's in a castle or on a beach!

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Firstly, I would ask to look at their drinks list and find out exactly what they will bring on the day. Mobile bar companies can vary greatly with some bringing a wide range of drinks similar to what you'd expect to find in a normal bar, and others who have more of a 'trestle table and few cans' approach. Secondly I'd check their operating hours - some bar companies place restrictions on the number of hours they work for and may wish to finish by a set time, whereas others will let you choose their opening hours. Thirdly, look at lots of photographs of the bar at different events - this will give you a feel for the atmosphere they help create.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

We started out as a keg hire company, thinking that the local students would take to 'keg parties' like ducks to... beer(?!). However, we quickly found out that most of our enquiries were coming from people getting married or organising small festivals, fetes, or corporate parties. The next logical step after delivering kegs was to deliver a bar and ourselves as well! We all have lots of experience running pubs and working in bars in the UK and abroad. We love travelling, festivals and events of all kinds - so it seemed to make sense to create a 'bar with legs' so we could work and see fantastic places all at the same time!

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

We had a great booking through Add to Event last summer - a wonderful extended-family get together in a rather large garden. All of the guests were lovely, the sun shone late into the evening, and the food and music were spot on too. Everybody enjoyed the bar which we'd spent the afternoon decorating with some of the family to fit in with the theme of their event. I would be pleased to recommend Add to Event to others, as the platform seems to be improving all the time and we receive regular enquiries through it.
