What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

To provide a quotation, we will need to know the type of event, the number of guests, the date, time and location. We would also require details of the cuisine, if you wish a hot, cold or mixed service and whether it is a formal, or an informal event. If you know of any dietary requirements for your guests, this is important to discuss with us. Also, if you require any drinks (alcohol, non-alcohol), serving staff, cockery and glassware or table linen. Should you have a budget in mind, this will help us tailor your menu and quotation.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

If you are looking to hire a caterer, you should first ask about the cuisine they provide and explain the service you are looking to hire. You will also want to ask about the type and size of events they can provide for and any previous reviews which you can look at. A good caterer will be passionate about the food and service which they provide. They should help you achieve the vision you have for your event. Discuss with them how will the service be presented and if this is included in a quotation.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Sisserou Lunch Box came about as a service to provide hot lunches to local business employees. Through this, we were able to secure a contract providing meals within a local daycare centre. This contract lead us to gain opportunities to secure contracts with local nurseries, a private school and local councils. Our service has always depended primarily on word of mouth and positive referrals to grow, however, due to positive feedback and reviews we have now launched a new website and Facebook page and continuing with our marketing campaign.
The company has been providing its services for 8 years and has catered for all types of events from small coffee meetings to large weddings and festivals. We pride ourselves on working to exceed client expectations by giving the tastiest of food with supreme customer care. Our mission is to provide healthy, nutritious food to everyone.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

Add to Event has given us so much more exposure for the business. After relying on word of mouth, we were sceptical as to how well the service would work for us. But soon after signing up, we have had the opportunity to connect with many new clients and have secured some bookings. We recently completed a service for a large birthday party held in a hall. We provided a selection of hot Caribbean dishes which went down a storm. The guests were all so enthusiastic for the food, coming back for 3rd and 4th servings. Our staff were amazing at handling the flow of guests and the birthday lady (and her daughter who had booked the service) were thrilled with the results.
We have now been recommending Add to Event to some of our industry contacts such as a local cake lady who also made a cake for one of our Add to Event services.
